Social Distancing Golf Play
With the right precautions, golf can be a safe activity, while enabling people to get outside and exercise in the fresh air, and as long as we are permitted to do so, we will keep our golf courses open to those in the area. To provide an even safer environment for guests and employees, Emerald Links Golf & Country Club has instituted Social Distancing Golf Play.
What is Social Distancing Golf Play?
Before Your Round:
-
When booking a tee-time, we are encouraging all guests to pre-pay. This may be done by clicking here.
-
Upon arrival at the course, guests should carry their own clubs to the staging area
-
Guests may choose to share a cart with another member of their group, choose to ride alone, or walk
-
Our Player’s Assistants will be on hand to navigate golfers to their golf carts (if riding), or, if walking, to our proshop attendants for check-in.
-
All guests will check-in with one of our proshop attendants
-
If a guest needs golf balls, a glove, or other merchandise from the golf shop, this can be done ahead of time on our website, or two golfers will be allowed in the shop at a time.
-
In addition, credit card machines and countertops will be sanitized following each transaction, and golf shop doors will be left open
-
There will be one entrance, and one exit into the proshop
-
Golf carts will be sanitized prior-to and after play
On-Course Etiquette
While playing golf, we ask the following:
-
All tee-times will be fifteen minutes apart, to allow for social distancing
-
Please do not ask to play through other golfers
-
Leave the flagstick in the hole while putting
-
There will be no ball washers available for use
-
Fist pumps and elbow daps are encouraged over handshakes
-
Food and beverage will be available inside the club house for mobile order and pickup only
After Your Round:
-
Following golf, guests may take their golf clubs directly to their vehicle.
-
If a golf cart was used, guests may take their cart to their car, unload personal belongings, and then return the cart to staging. Please leave the key inside the cart.
-
When returning the cart, we ask that guest’s empty trash in the trash bins provided
-
The staff will sanitize each golf cart following play
We deeply appreciate your business and ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate through this unique situation. In order to get through this, we all need to work together to adapt and overcome.

About
Emerald Links was the first addition to the Patterson Family golf courses. Our other two courses are Anderson Links (Ottawa) and Cloverdale (Winchester).
Emerald Links was first opened in 1990 with 18 holes. The clubhouse, featuring multiple meeting rooms, a full restaurant, the proshop, was opened soon after.
We have since added a new nine-hole course in 2002 and golfers now have the choice of playing a combination of these nines.
